2017 E.C.M.S. “I decided to join E.C.M.S to get involved with issues that face us in the medical community in order to make positive changes by working together. It has been a great opportunity to meet other local physicians that I wouldn’t normally have a chance to meet (put a face with a name).” - Hillary Hultstrand, M.D.
2017 E.C.M.S. President- Elect: “I decided that if I didn’t get involved in organized medicine, someone else, usually a non-physician, would make rules that affect my practice of medicine. The Escambia County Medical Society is the right organization to advocate for physician/patient issues. It’s also a lot of fun!” - Ellen W. McKnight, M.D.
2017 ECMS Vice-President:"With all of the evolving changes in healthcare it is important for doctors to stay current and stand together for what is best for their patients." - Karen Snow, M.D.
2017 ECMS Secretary/ Treasurer: " I joined ECMS to better communicate with my medical colleagues in the local area. I have benefitted greatly from understanding the issues facing other specialties and other physicians working under a different employment structure than myself (employed, single/solo private practice, government, etc). As I see it , we are in this together and can better support/advocate for each other when we communicate openly and often- ECMS fosters this. " - Brett Parra, M.D.
